Jean-Paul Legaré

LANDSCAPE ARTIST

Being a very colourful painter, he constantly approaches our landscapes with a different view rendering them with a pictorial expression and with very intimate light effects hence the reference of "painter of lights". He is fond of mountains and their reflections on the water. Paints mostly autumn scenes.

ARTIST'S APPRECIATIONS

"Like a jazz tune on a summer afternoon, Jean-Paul Legare's canvasses smell of light".
Christiane Lussier, L'Auberge/L'Envol, March 1983

"Simple and warm, these two words describe both the work of art and the artist. Light and movement are the main elements which he tries to integrate in all his paintings".
Serge Geoffrion, Peuple-Tribune, August 1982

"His paintings allow us to admire his talent, the beauty of his landscapes and the harmony of his colours".
Monique Duval, Le Soleil, November 1984
